University of Groningen Library

The University of Groningen Library provides all the facilities you need!

The University of Groningen Library is a vital and highly visible part of the University of Groningen. The main objective of the Library is to support teaching and research at the University. Another objective is to increase the visibility of the University in academia and society.

The Library performs multiple roles both within and outside the University – local, regional, national and international.
The Library offers a variety of services to staff and students in both digital and physical forms. As research and education are constantly evolving, new generations of students expect different services from those of a decade ago. Likewise, research support has evolved. The way that collections are built is changing too: the roles of books and journals have changed due to the rise of digital editions. In the digital world, libraries are not separate entities any more, but part of a national network of joint licences for electronic databases and journals, where agreements are made about the acquisition and disposal of printed material.
